Home > Male Pattern Baldness

The main factor for hair loss is hereditary but this genetic factor does not affect the hair at the back and sides of the head. This is the area from which the hair are harvested and transplanted onto the bald area.

The technique used is follicular hair unit transplant/ extraction (FUT/FUE/DHI)

The hair are transplanted in groups of one to four and give a very natural appearance.

These hair fall off after few weeks and re-grow from the roots in three to six months. Later these transplanted hair are permanent and need maintenance just as natural hair do. Shampoo and oil can be applied to them. The surgery is performed under local anaesthesia and patient goes home same day.

Multiple sittings may be required if higher density is required/ larger area is to be covered.

Hair from body can also be harvested and applied to the head.

Similarly hair can be transplanted on chest, eyebrows, and face (beard/moustache).

As these hair are completely natural, they have no problems like itching, glue application, tape application, skin allergies, reactions, professional  maintenance.

Donor site depending on the procedure done generally heals within a week to ten days. Some tingling or numbness may persist for some months, but in most of the cases it goes away with time.

One can expect some edema for some days, and this again goes off in some days time spontaneously.

As these hair are natural, and permanent, the artificial look of hair pieces, wigs, weaving, bonding etc can be avoided.
